The Ceremony 

Our ceremony will be hosted at the Old Harbour in Hermanus town, starting at 4pm on Friday 16 March.  We do have a back-up plan in case the weather does not cooperate   ;-). 

Note - the Old Harbour is by the sea and can get chilly and there is quite a steep incline for gals in stilettos :-)

The Reception

The reception will be at La Vierge Restaurant - a wine farm in the Hemel-en-Aarde ("heaven and earth") valley, which is about 10 minutes drive from Hermanus centre. See pic below

We will be heading back from the ceremony at about 5/5:30pm so that we make it in time for sundowners at La Vierge.

  • Take the main road out of Hermanus heading for Cape Town (R43).
  • You will reach a set of traffic lights at the large Sandbaai intersection where you will need to turn RIGHT onto the R320 (the Hemel en Aarde Valley road to Caledon).
  • You will now be heading away from the sea into the mountains. Continue for about 6,5kms and you will see La Vierge on your left – be careful, it is a sharp left turn into the entrance, easily missed
Safe drive option: 
We have organised drivers for the evening who will be on standby to "buddy drive" your cars home for you from 10pm onwards (like Goodfellas or Roadtrip for the SAs). Or if you didn't bring a car, they will have a car to drive you home. 

We encourage everyone to carpool as much as possible, there will be enough options to get you home. 

Getting to Hermanus

 Hermanus is located 1.5 hours from Cape Town, along the Indian Ocean. To get there from Cape Town airport:

  • Take the N2 towards Somerset West
  • Go through Somerset West and before Caledon take the R43 turnoff
  • Follow the R43 until you reach Hermanus
